SIMULATOR TRAINING
A Beech 1900D Simulator and a Bell Jetranger B206 simulator have been delivered to APTRAC, based at Port Elizabeth City Airport. The simulators, replacing the current and out-dated simulation available, are an exact replica of the craft, and are type-specific with a 150-degree field of view; however its capabilities expand much further.
They will be used at an elementary level as a generic piston engine craft to provide Commercial Pilot License students with their initial instrument training for Night and Instrument Ratings. Thereafter, they will be utilised to their full potential for more advanced training such as: turbine orientation, advanced systems training (including GPS, GPWS & ACAS) and type-specific conversion training onto the Beech B1900/B200 and Bell Jetranger respectively. CRM, MCC and Airline Preparation Programs will also be conducted using this simulation as a highly effective training medium.
